Toyota Tundra drivers
Toyota Tundra drivers
Who drives one? How does it tow a trailer?
May be looking at this truck, crew max, and will be towing a 16ft trailer with a 2K lb side by side a good bit.
For some reason, I test drove the 2015 Ram 1500 with the V6 diesel, and really like it too. I didn't think I would. I've never liked the fact that when you shut the door on any dodge, it sounded like your smashing 2 tin cans together. But that's apparently fixed and there interior is really nice. The price sucks though. But, so does the Tundra, Ford, and Chevy.

Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
I am on my second Tundra and will probably have a third one when this one wears out.
Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
I don't pull anything that heavy regularly, but it pulls my 17ft G3 with ease. Much better than my Z71 did.

Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
I tow plenty with my 08. Wish I had a little heavier suspension, but for the most problem never worry about power. I used to tow my 26' Parker with it all the time with no problems!!

The Dodge's have come a long way. My next truck will be a Dodge 2500 with the new 6.4 hemi and I've driven a Ford all my life.

Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
I've got a 2007 Tundra with 140K miles and if I had to buy a new truck tomorrow, I would lean strongly towards another one. I've done nothing but recommended maintenance and had to replace 2 electric door lock mechanisms. No other problems at all.
I don't tow anything often but I do pull a 10' trailer with a Honda Pioneer occasionally and you barely know it's back there.

Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
I have the 2000 Tundra. 1st year they made the Tundra. 200K+ duck hunting miles on it and going strong. ZERO problems and just the recommended maintenance. Tows great. Will buy another one.

Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
On my second tundra both 5.7 and you can't ask for a better truck....gas mileage sucks at times, but the quality of the truck, towing, and ride make up for it.
Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
I have an 08 CrewMax SR5 TRD with the 5.7. I tow a small tractor, ranger crew, pontoon and a travel trailer and have never had any issues with power. It does drink gas. I noticed someone said they had to replace the door lock motors. I have replaced 3. About to get another one as soon as I can get them to deal a little more on what I want.

Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
I've got a '10 crewmax and would get another one in a heartbeat...my biggest complaint is the factory radios and speakers suck.

Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
Joel, mine's an '08 with 215k miles. I'll get another one here before long. I had to have injectors replaced at around 180k, but everything has been straight since then. I've hauled boats, trailers loaded down with all kinds of stuff cars, vans (out of the sand in Florida ) and hunted hard in it for eight years now. A+
At times there is not a satisfactory substitute for well-aimed lead going down range at high velocity.

Re: Toyota Tundra drivers
you wont even know that load is behind you. have an 09 crew max with 140k miles. best truck I have ever owned. I would be real careful with that dodge diesel. I have read quite a few horror stories about them already. plus why any one would want a diesel in a 1500 is beyond me. maybe cause its cool?
