iphone GPS

Postby eSJay » Mon Mar 16, 2015 1:00 pm

Let’s say I have coordinates that mark locations of artificial structure in a lake. Is there an “easy to use” iphone app that allows me to plug in the coordinates and map the spots on my phone?
If so, what’s the accuracy (± ft.) of this technology?
thanks!

GPS hunt by trimble, has several features and way point storage and will allow you to see you're lat and long,, but I didn't see where you could enter it and go to it.. Google earth also allows you to see your current lat & long..
BTW these are free ^^ you could probably pay for one that'll do what you need.
If you find one post it up..

On the preloaded maps app on your iphone you can type gps coordinates into the search bar and click search and it will drop a pin on those readings on your map. The compass on the iphone also displays gps coordinates of the phone.

Antler Insanity will do a good job and you can look at satellite images of your waypoints as well.

Thanks guys! Turns out that I already had MotionX loaded. Just took the time to figure out how to enter all the waypoints. Got them all saved into a folder & errthang! However, my home waypoint defaults to somewhere in california & I can't figure out out to delete.

MotionX is awesome. I use it all the time for work and marking hunting spots.

"When navigating in Manual Mode (without GPS), the range and bearing start from the
Home location you’ve defined. To change your Home position, create a new waypoint

when you don't have a gps signal, this is the default waypoint it starts from...create a new waypoint as above and try that.
