And theu want you to believe that's your responsibility.
Re: UPS question regarding the declared value of package
They will take responsibility up to the value that you declared the package for. Get over it and pay the extra or YOU take on the risk of having to pay. There is no such thing as a free meal.

Re: UPS question regarding the declared value of package
I quit shipping using UPS or FedEx a while back. Their rates are just stupid. I use USPS on my shipping and it is a lot less. Example. I was shipping an item that I sold on ebay to Canada a few years ago. UPS and FedEx both wanted over $125 for shipping with all the insurance. USPS did the shipping same time frame and insurance for under $30.00.

Re: UPS question regarding the declared value of package
I shipped 3 identical package to 3 cities. Jena La, Jonesboro Ar, and Inverness Ms via UPS all were to a residence. . Which was cheapest and most expensive. It was a box of business cards.
Jena was $7 Jonesboro $15 and Inverness $16. Makes no sense why closest was most $$ and furthest the cheapest.

Re: UPS question regarding the declared value of package
To be honest, from an insurance perspective, your package is their responsibility when you are paying them a fee for them to transport it.
