dogs barking in the county

Postby jdbuckshot » Mon Jan 19, 2015 7:31 am

I am thinking of buying a place out in the county - its an old house and barn that are fixer uppers - it is next to some land we already own.

the land owner to the north of me has a dog kennel with some mutt dogs - I don't think they ever get out of the pen - but they bark 24/7.

the main reason for moving into the county is more space and more peace and quite - I couldn't imagine sitting on my back deck over looking a nice sunset and listening to that all the time. I asked one of the neighbors and they said they never stop - only at night - but during the day - they bark all the time.

anyone ever dealt with a situation like this? if it was quieter I would probably be interested in the place.

friend of mine had same problem. adjacent property owner had dog kennel right behind this guys house and the dogs barked non-stop, all day. he found a device on amazon that looks like a birdhouse that made a super high pitched sound that humans can't hear, but is audible to dogs. within a few days the barking stopped. that is until the neighbor found and "disabled" the device.

Maybe that guy moved out there so his mutts could bark.

Just like people that buy land next to a pig farm or chicken house and then complain about the smell. They were there first, much like this man and his barking dogs. If you know this ahead of time and still buy the property, learn to live with barking dogs or buy some earplugs.

I want to hear more about this high pitch bird house. How in the heck did the neighbor know what it was and know he needed to disable a fake bird house??
