ask DS - Dog kennel question...
I've heard spreading pelleted lime around kennel and in yard will help break down poo and help with smell...any truth, anyone ever heard this?

Never heard of people using pelletized. I think they are using hydrated lime. It looks and feels like white baby powder.

Re: the stink.....
Ideally you would have a trough on 2 sides (the lower side) that connect ('Y' or 'long sweep') - that the 'wash' would drain int. Then you could flush it away from the kennels and put lime where 'that' dumps-out........provided that's not in your neighbors' back yard.
I'm not certain, but I think lime could burn your dogs' feet, so I would advise caution if spreading it around the perimeter of the slab only.

Shovel it up and throw it in the trash can first. Lot less $hit to spray off then.

Lime is caustic and will burn skin with long contact. Many people do use lime to control odor. There are other options listed below.
Bleach and water
Vinegar and Baking Soda
Diatomacious Earth
SweetPDZ (found at tractor supply or local co-op as a horse stall odor controller)
Picking up the bulk would be the better option and move the odor. Then you could control that area more easily.

Feed the Good stuff... lot less poo and stink too. it may be more expensive to buy but it is better in the long dog run.
