I like the member, I have no concerns of their past choices and decisions. It was a non-violent crime and they have paid their debt. It is not my place to judge, but it is my place to protect me and my kids, not that I fear any harm for them or anyone in the camp. Had I not accidentally learned of the info, I would have never thought to wonder about it. I wanted some insight and opinions of how liable I might possibly be if the law came around.

This was 100% a legality question.

Seems that it is not anything that I should worry about. Therefore, we will hunt and enjoy deer camp.

Thanks for your opinions.

Whether gun rights have been reinstated by the State system does not safeguard this person from the Fed statute for felon in poss of F.A. Kinda like the pot issue in Colorado. Its legal under state law, but not fed. So technically getting rights reinstated can still leave the individual at risk under fed system.

What one should do is there call. But I would make sure I knew the person was a convicted felon and has not had the felony expunged, pardoned, etc. before I did/said anything about it.

Depends on 2 things. 1)What the felony is 2)How good of a lease it is. 2 can always trump 1 in this situation.
