I didn't want this to get buried in the Davis Island thread so I started it's own post. If you've read the Davis Island thread on the deer forum then you saw where and individual is in the process of putting a crossing across both ends of Palmyra Chute which would essentially block section 10 navigatable waters until the river reaches 27 ft to 28 ft on the MS River gage at Vicksburg. It is my understanding that these crossings are being built without proper permitting and each end is located in a different region/zone with amounts to seperate violations. For some reason, which I can't explain, no one seems to want to take any action on stopping this work. So, this is where you come in. I'm posting the contact info below so that anyone who feels so inclined, can voice their opinion on this issue and hopefully help to get something done about it. We all as tax payers have a right to navigatable waters as defined by our government and no one individual should have control over them for his own pleasure/economic gain at the tax payers expense. Don't be ugly about it, but voice your conern effectively.

I can show you 7 gates on the Yazoo levee in Humphreys County. They ask the COE, the COE gives the authority.

FYI, county is fighting them... Just trying to figure out who/what details are. But if gates are up, Corp must have given consent. How long have they been up?

Cough cough .. That's why I asked if it had posted here .. Didn't see ur post.. But I did talk to the corp about it today .. And they are well aware of it ...I just got off the phone with the corp and it is in the enforcement division not permit stage ... They caught wind of it as it was being done and are supposed to be goin out next week to look as it is under water now..maybe some fines coming down to him and if they allow it it want be any higher than the low water crossing were at Orginal stage
