I love the comments. One guy says, "Why is this such a big deal?" and another replies, "It is sort of like entering a unicycle in a NASCAR race."

When I was at State, a buddy of mine was getting his pilot's license. We left Golden Traingle one afternoon and flew into New Orleans International in a Cessna 172. It's obvioulsy not as busy as O'hare, but it was a sight to witness coming in between 747s and whatever other commercial jets were arriving/departing around us.

Screw that.... There's too much traffic for me at these little county airports. They use Houston airport quite often for touch and goes in the Air Force trainers. Those things can get on you quick!!

I soloed at Monroe, La. Had to land behind a Delta jet in the little 152 I was training in. Quite exciting for a student pilot.

Been there. Done that. Got the tee shirt. Wingman, look up the expressway visual for 31 in LGA and tell me what you think about it. The first time I did it was at night, and it was @$$holes and elbows the entire way in. :D

Let me know when the Corsair shows up at Greenwood. He didn't make the Tallulah airshow last Saturday.

I've had to go into O'Hare several times in the last year, and don't like it even in the jets. I'm going up to Telluride CO a good bit now too. Rob, I'll try to remember to turn on the Go-Pro next time we do that one. Telluride is the worst approach in the US in my opinion, especially when the weather's marginal. I have a good video somewhere of the approach and a departure at Jackson Hole I'll try to dig up too. Its kind of creepy popping out of the clouds at 9000 feet and seeing a 14000 foot mountain directly in front of you!

Tdagget, have you ever done the river visual 19 into dca? That's always a good one.

I'd like to see some of those approaches y'all are talking about.

When you get 20 minutes, watch these guys from Missionary Aviation Fellowship. Aircraft make, runway altitude, and runway length are on the bottom. They're just now getting a few Kodiaks. Must be an impressive plane.

This is one of my favorites. Brian Pruett flying a 185 for New Tribes Mission in Papua. He has since put Alaska Bushwheels on it.

Here is the River Visual 19 in DCA. This guy just about gets to far left as he is setting up to make that final turn.

And this is the Expressway Visual 31 LGA.

The first time I did this one it was at night, and I they had the Stadium Lights on. I was way behind the airplane from the time I passed the white tanks.
