Great Delta Bear Affair (a shout out for my hometown)

Postby mille011 » Tue Oct 21, 2014 9:31 am

If you and the family are looking for something to do this Saturday, you should visit the Great Delta Bear Affair in Rolling Fork. The weather is looking perfect. The first festival was put on in 2002 on the 100th anniversary of President Roosevelt's bear hunt and this festival has grown every year.

Games, food, music, arts & crafts, and educational information on the black bear. They also have a trail ride through the Delta National forest as well as a 5K color run/walk that is new this year.

Other attractions:

a tour of nearby archaeological sites
seminars,
a chainsaw wood carver,
magician
Teddy Roosevelt and Holt Collier impersonators

That's correct, and since there's some disagreement on whether Muddy was born in 1913 or 1915 - this year's theme is "Muddy turns 100".

2 International Blue Competetion winners (and past participants at RF festivals) are featured in the afternoon.

My band plays at 2:15ish.
