Man I bet that hurt. Morons didn't know they have barbs apparently. Guess they were too chicken to just yank it out. Hope she washed it out thoroughly to hopefully prevent getting vibrio or some other bacterial infection.

Under completely different circumstances (no bikini clad girls around), I caught mud-cat one day, it fell on the bank and I went to kick it back in the water – bad mistake. The fin went through my shoe, into my big toe and broke off. After hobbling to the house, my friend's mother got the pliers and went to pull the broken fin out of my toe – she was unsuccessful as the pain was ridiculous. And yes, there are many barbs on a catfish fin to hold it in place.
