Will Roundup Kill Young Pines?
Will Roundup Kill Young Pines?
Will roundup kill 2 yr old pines? Need to spray around some but don't want to kill them.
Re: Will Roundup Kill Young Pines?
If they are up a few feet and you dont spray all over'em you'll be fine.
Where'd who go?
Re: Will Roundup Kill Young Pines?
It will definitely burn them if you spray the foliage.

Re: Will Roundup Kill Young Pines?
Glyphosate will hammer young pines if it comes in contact wth the needles.
When it come's to duck calling and duck killing its the indian not the arrow!
Re: Will Roundup Kill Young Pines?
If it's weed & grass killer it will not harm them one bit
Re: Will Roundup Kill Young Pines?

crackhead is right. Keep it off the foliage and you'll be fine, but don't spray over the top of them. Imazapyr can be sprayed over the top of them as long as it's not candling longleaf.
Re: Will Roundup Kill Young Pines?
It will burn them. And is it worth the chance to risk replanting?
Re: Will Roundup Kill Young Pines?
I'm just spraying food plots with a small atv sprayer. If I got any on the pines then it could not have been much. Might try imazapyr next year.
What can I spray along the edges of food plots and roads to knock back all the scrubby bushes that pop up? Arsenal?

You can use Garlon (triclopyr) if all you're trying to do is kill the stuff that's sticking out but not the whole tree. We used some earlier this summer to chemically trim back some ROW. Worked pretty well. Smoked a bunch of sweetgum which is always a victory in my book. This should take you to a fact sheet on chemical side trim: http://msdssearch.dow.com/PublishedLite ... age=GetDoc
Somebody else here might have some other recommendations too. I don't have a ton of experience with it but it worked well for us this year.
I'd be careful with imazapyr (arsenal/chopper) in a food plot. It controls hardwood and some brush and grass good but I'm not sure what effect it would have on things you'd plant in a food plot. Might be ok but be sure to research it first since it is soil active.

4# product at 1.5pt/ac or 1 qt/ac wont hurt them over the top....But its not labeled for that. But a lot cheaper than Imazapyr.
Just saying
