I normally shoot xperts but am thinking of buying a case of hevimetal or blindside this year....Anyway, I was wondering what you guys shoot and prefer? Simmons and Rogers both have their sales going on now.....Wondering where you can also get the most bang for your buck....no pun intended!

Fed blue box

Steel shot is steel shot. Doesn't matter if it's a $10 box or $20 box ......... all the same.

+1 on Rios. Seem to burn a little dirty but never skipped a beat with them. Fairly priced also. Talked to guy today that runs hunting store locally and he said his distributor tild him that Rio had storage containers filled for distribution to the extent they think they can still meet demand until new manufacture is complete due to previous catastrophe. He says he knew for fact he was getting his dove shell supply in this coming month. Just what I have been told so....
I have shot about every shell out there(because I like testing new technology/loads), but I f they in your lap it doesn't matter what shell you shoot.

Didn't I leave y'all some hevi metal to shoot up at Cypress Crossing last year ?

I shoot Hevi Metal because a UPS truck keeps leaving it on my front porch, if it was coming out of my Wallet it'd be rio or fiocchi

Medic....If so, I didn't shoot any....I've never shot it, but thinking about buying some. I called my partner Greg yesterday to get him to do an inventory on what we have...We split cases and most of it stays in his garage with the deeks....I like the looks of the 3" 5's in kent teal steel....I know 3" 6's are deadly in the trees...

i like kent tungsten 2 3/4", but the price makes them prohibitive. blindside tears the ducks up too bad for my tastes, but like them for geese

Patterned some Rio Bismuth (4s) today...its similar to other HD loads with a tighter pattern than steel... IC and SK chokes performed the best...I heard these are made in England so if you want 4s buy 3s in these....price is great compared to other HD loads...JMO

I don't have a problem with xperts, just asking questions to try and drum up some duck talk on here. What I have found over the years is that I'm not pulling the trigger on ducks over about 40yds anyway. I guess what I really have a problem with is killing the cripples that get out 45-50yds out on the water. I hate having to go get the boat to run them down and the account for the majority of lost birds, which still isn't many.

I prefer not having any cripples...

Understood.

I carry about 6 Hevi-shot #5's in my bag .......for the uncooperative honker that lands wide and thinks he can skirt the decoys and remain 'safe'........and for 'swimmers' that look healthy enough to out-swim or out-dive the dog in certain (mostly icey)conditions.

My logic is: 1 Hevi-shot = cost of 5 Xperts.......either method you choose for dispatching cripples, renders the same net cost providing the latter actually does the job. I just prefer to END rather than prolong the agony.
