Boat registration?

Postby fireplug » Mon Jul 21, 2014 7:20 am

I'm sure this has been asked on here before but I'm gonna ask again because I don't know how to search for old posts.

My father in law past away back in April. I've had his boat for the last 2 or 3 years though and the registration is out on it.
I need to get it over into my name. Can his wife (my MIL) sign a bill of sale that will suffice to get it re-registered into my name,
or can my wife just sign it? Do all registrations applications have to be notarized these days?

No...your bill of sale, that you will need, does not need to be notarized...it does need a witness signature however. So, have the MIL sign a bill of sale, have the wife witness it, fill out the app... registration card comes in the mail...easy
