Needing aluminum Welder/Fabricator to build boat platform

Postby duramax » Tue Jun 24, 2014 3:58 pm

I'm looking for someone in the NW Mississippi or Memphis area to build a poling platform for me. It'll be going on an aluminum fishing boat. You can't really buy them for jon boats because they vary so much in size, they have to be custom made. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Here's a few pics of what I'm talking about:

I realize that this is not north MS but Brad Delaney in Semmes, AL does great work. He used to have a website but looks like it's no longer up. However, if you are on FB, look up Delaney Fabrications. He can pretty much make anything you need.

probably not many t-top/poling platform builders in that area but look for some offroad fab shops. they should have all of the equipment and skills to bend and weld that up for you.
shoot them in the face they may be wearing body armor lol

Is this something your are going to be using a bunch?

if not I would have it made from steel - and put a good quality paint job on it. you can probably get it done for 1/2 of what the aluminum would cost, and it would be a lot easier to find someone to do it.

Gator Trax in Springfield La built one to spec for my cousin's boat. Its just an old 17 foot flat boat, but they called them with what they wanted and GT built it for them. came out nice and 4 bolts and its off. not sure what they paid

May be a bit too far east for you but I had some transom work done (cut and refab)last year by Rinehart Repair and Machine Shop in Guys, TN. Did good work for what I felt like was a fair price.
