Did a "Sears Hydroturf" job in my War Eagle

Postby southernfire97 » Sat Jun 21, 2014 4:06 pm

Just finished up putting the Sears foam flooring in my boat. I love Hydroturf but can't afford it at the moment. I took out the middle livewell and added a floor to it. Think it turned out pretty decent.

Looks good I've got some for mine but haven't installed it yet. What did you use to secure it down?

Weldwood contact cement. Just put a thin coat on both surfaces and wait till it's tacked up good. Word of caution, once the two surfaces touch, it's stuck! I recommend having someone help you.

does that stuff get slick once the mud hits it? How much do you have in the floor material?

No, it doesn't get slick unless you absolutely cover it in mud. The real Hydroturf is better than this stuff, it's a tougher compound, but HT costs about $100/sheet and this stuff is $25/sheet.

It's the exercise mat. They used to sell Best Step anti fatigue mat, which is what everyone was using, but the Hattiesburg store only had the exercise mat when I went. It's the same stuff, just different brand. I don't recall the brand name. The roll is 43"x96"

Blake Williamson told me about it. You can go to store and order. If you get two rolls shipping to your house is free. Couldnt get out of the shipping online.

Very curious to see long term durability. Certainly a job well done and keep us posted on durability.
