Looking to knock back some broadleafs in a few spots that I have a pretty good crop of natural and volunteer duck food coming up in. Couldn't get in there early to use 2-4d so I am looking for my best alternative, something that will be the least harmful to plants like panic grass, sprangle top, barnyard and rice.
I also have a pretty good base of sedges.
I was hoping these were going to win out but as spring heads toward summer the braodleaves are starting to give me a bit of concern.
Anyone had any luck with other selective broadleaf herbicides?
2-4D alternatives ?
Re: 2-4D alternatives ?
2,4-D won't hurt any grasses.

Re: 2-4D alternatives ?
Guess my question wasn't clear. I know 2-4d would be safe for my grassed but in the area i need to spray I it is not allowed this time of year due to danger of drift.
So I am looking for another broadleaf killer. I love 2-4d but its not an option for me in this spot.

Dicamba (Banvel, Clarity, etc.) is probably your next best option (if it is allowed in that area) for selective broadleaf weed control. Triclopyr (Grandstand, triclopyr amine, etc.) is another auxin-mimic herbicide of a different family that is really good on broadleaves, but has activity on SOME grass species so check the label.

Re: 2-4D alternatives ?
Aim is the chemical I use in place of 2,4d where 2,4d drift is a concern. Aim is used in the rice industry. I use it on millets.

Re: 2-4D alternatives ?
Sorry for the delay in getting back to yall.
Thanks for the help.
Now I just need it to dry out enough so I can get my other stuff planted.
Not gonna complain too much about the wet weather yet, I know how fast we can see that turn off and go into drought.
