What year did Micah fire this site up?

Just trying to figure out when I joined. I lurked for a year or so before registering. Wasn't he still in college when he did it?

wasn't there a crash early on that reset member's registration date. Mine and Crow's both say 1:01 am 19 June 2001, but I graduated from southern miss in may 2001 and i know for a fact that i spent a year or two at southern miss browsing msduscks.com forums from the computer bank in the library. i'm thinking at least 1999-2000.

i can remember spending hours in the library browsing the forums at hoosier jims's; refuge forums, waterfowler.net, duckboats.net; field and stream's forums, and a bunch of others i can't remember. good times and lots of great information for a newbie

Yep, crashed at some point. I think all the old members will have the same join date. Not sure but I remember something happening.

I want to say Micah started the first msducks site in '96 or '97. He then transferred to the original msducks.com phpbb forum in say 1999 or 2000. When the new upgraded phpbb format came out, the msducks.com site could not handle all of the load, server wise. He then purchased the ducksouth.com name and moved everything to the current site in April 2001.

When Micah transferred everything to this site, we had a link on the main page that would take you back to the first phpbb forum. Then that little punk kid from TX hacked the site during Christmas that one year, and we lost a ton of data, including the old archives.

HA! speak freely about public hunting spots and they turn into what we have now. A total CLUSTER.

After the couple of years of stinkingcoot posting info all over the net one of the places I used to go very often is a stink hole that you cant even get your boat to the water until daylight, that is if you dont sleep in your truck on the gravel road waiting on the allotted time. Complete BS brought on by idots on the WWW putting info all over the place and drawing the crowds that the powers that be "needed" to regulate.

So reguardles if you agree with it or not that "rule" is the best thing to happen to this site, in well.............ever!!!

If you cant see that, there is no hope for you.

Scary to think that was fifteen years ago. Time sure flies by.
