Prayers please

Postby Greenhead329 » Tue Apr 22, 2014 1:21 am

I'm going under the knife in the next 5 hrs for emergency back surgery. I had an old injured disc blow apart and several pieces that have dropped down to the next portion of vertebrae and are putting pressure on my spinal cord.

I've been in pain for past 10 days; excruciating pain the past 3.

If all goes well, the doc said I should be home no later than Thursday and should feel no discomfort except at surgical site .

Thanks for the prayers guys.... I'm up... Moving slow. Doc said it was worse than the MRI showed. Said within 6 months to a 3 years he's gonna have to go back in and fuse with rods and bolts ... But nerve was too compressed for too long ...he said he could actually see the nerves start swelling once he decimpressed them.... didnt want to get me in more trouble by placing a plate next to them.....dremaining portion disc was so herniated it wrapped itself around my adjacent nerves....another reason I couldn't walk .

Thanks for the update. Glad you are up and moving. Don't rush it. Been there, done that and have the hardware to show for it. Holler if you have any questions.
