Had this happen with my Model 700 30.06 several years ago. Missed a deer one afternoon, went to check scope next day. When my brother knocked the safety off, the gun fired. Luckily, it was pointed down range. After that, the trigger would fire when you knocked the safety off or when you would close the bolt.

After reading about the problems, I sent the gun back to Remington and they replaced the trigger mechanism. I have not had any problems since then, but I wonder if I should send it back again anyway.
