A5 barrel

Postby teul2 » Fri Apr 11, 2014 10:44 am

Anyone know a good source for a jap barrel with chokes for an old A5?
Slug and fixed choke barrels seem to be easy to come by. but ones with chokes that I can shoot steel through are slim.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

Good luck. If you find a inv barrel be prepared to pay 500 for it. I did luck into an invector barrel but I dont use it.

The first one I bought had a bel barrel, You cant shoot steel out of a fixed choke bel barrel. You can shoot steel out of a japan fixed choke barrel. I found a jap full choke barell and have been using it for several years with no issues. I did call Browning and they told me it should be fine just dont shoot smaller than #4 shot. I have used #3 steel for 3-4 years. No issues.

just buy a fixed choke and send it to bailey. It doesn't cost much to get it threaded

If you need it and can't find it, they probably have two of them.

I bought a 20ga Smith and Wesson barrel from them a few months back. Great folks to work with and it is amazing the barrel inventory they have.

Thanks guys.
I was looking at a project gun this weekend at an auction that some jack wagon cut the barrel down to 13in and stock off behind the pistol grip to make a short barreled. The cheese burger obviously didn't know that's where the bolt spring tube is and it won't work with out it. That dang thing went for $280 plus auction fees of 10% and FFL transfer costs with out the barrel.

But, I am always looking for a 2.75in barrel for my dad's light 12 so I can duck hunt with it again.
