Re: McDaniel v Cochran - Thoughts
I understand your frustration and the double egged sword, but these bills and legislation that are passed have funds and other special interest funding that goes to "The Great State of Mississippi". Seniority gets us these. I am all for getting rid of all of them up there, but the truth is, Thad brings money to Mississippi. Money that if not here, we wouldn't be as well off as we are now. That's a fact. I have several good friends in Washington and they all reiterate the point that MS is very(extremely) poor when it comes to funding. Without a lot of what he has gotten us, we wouldn't have what we do now...and that ain't much.

Oh I'm voting for McDaniel, but what I said is truth. Seniority gets things done on the hill. I don't necessarily agree with it, but its the way it is. Without a fresh clean slate across the board, we have to compromise at times.
Also, in Thad's seat, the winner of the Republicans will still have to face Travis Childers. The sentiment "Back home on the campaign trail" as reported by those on the hill are "if you currently have a desk in Washington, then your constituents want you back home". Which Republican Candidate has the best shot at beating Childers?
While kicking them all out of office and replacing everyone up there with gun toting Republican Conservatives and Libertarians, the truth is that's a pipe dream based upon the rest of the country and their voting history. We have to work with what we've got.

Personally so fed up with all of them that I'm willing to take a chance on anyone new getting the seats....preferably a Republican though. Does Childers really have a shot?

i'm in the same boat rj...prefer republican, but fed up w/status quo. growing up on a row crop/catfish farm (and in the ag industry, presently), it is a heavy hearted choice to make between thad's loyalty to agriculture and the need for new direction in dc.

This is a disheartening article about Cochran, Barbour and what appears to be Cronyism. I hope that what is alleged therein is not true.

Jackson Jambalaya posted a similar story recently

That being said, your article eludes to the fact that the empty lots and slabs on the coast are related to cronyism and corruption. This is what I hate about the media. They say stuff like that to make it sound like is part of the issue. It's not. Those empty slabs are a result of people either taking the insurance money and not building back, or not having insurance at all.

Like someone said....The difference between a cowboy and a politician is the BS is on da outside of the boot...
Re: McDaniel v Cochran - Thoughts
Article just solidifies what we already know.......MOST politicians are currupt evil people looking out for their own interests and
not the people who elect them.
not the people who elect them.
