What kind of tree is this

My great grandmother planted this tree back in the day. We want to ID so we can put another one back. I'm usually pretty good at locating useless or hard to find info, but his has me stumped.
It's a short needle evergreen of some type. Never really tried to get tall just spread out so to speak. What say ye?
