Our hunt is up on huntsecretary.com, please sign up and come out and have fun. If you have never run a dog in the Bonnett Carre Spillway, it is time to try it. The grounds are great.

When will the next session be? I've been wanting to get my chessy out there but work seems to get in the way... How much does it cost to join the fun?

No, the 21.00 and 30.00 is membership. Anyone can come. The memberships dues is for 1 year. On the training day we meet around 7:30 then move to a spot to train. Some come later. Show up when you want. You might just have to look for a bunch of trucks with dog boxes. Training is usually to about 11:00, depends on how many dogs. Than we try to have meeting if we have enough people. We plan to discuss the hunt coming up. The hunt test is all day for 2 days. You can come out and check it out but you do not need to stay the hold time unless you are running your dog. If you have puppies, we also try to have a puppy test at the headqtrs. 5.00 entry and we can use ducks or bumpers. We just want to have fun with puppies.
I will be at headqtrs most of the day both days

Well I'll be there with my 2 year chessy. Do people help each other out there? This is my first dog training to duck hunt. So I'm sure I can't use all the help I can get.

They are changing the training day to March 8. March 1 is the weekend before Mardi Gras and it would be hard for most to get there.
If you need help, just ask. There will be several older members that are willing to help. I am not sure I will be there yet.
As far as finding them, I am sure they will not be far from the river road. Look for trucks with individual dog boxes. Not big dog trailers. You can just pull up and ask if they are Pontchatrain.
