I agree with everyone about the book being better. The Pepsi bottle bit would have made it funnier. I also think the falls down the mountain didn't do it justice as well (just from the impression I got from the book). Also, there weren't as many falls down the mountain as there were in the book. I remember reading the book thinking "Crap!! When will this guy quit falling down the mountain." The big rescue scene at the end of the movie didn't really happen that way either from what I could tell from the book.

Marcus Luttrell also makes a few appearances in the movie as well.

Watched the movie last, and it is very good, however I had already read the book. I think if you watch the movie then read the book, it would be better.

Would y'all have done the same and let the herders go??? Knowing they were Taliban, and then stayed overnight instead of heading to an extraction point.

Yall oughta watch "Restrepo" It's a documentary about a group of soldiers in the Korengil Valley in Afghanistan....That's some real "caca" there....Don't watch it with the little kids.

That will give you the best idea of what it's like to be there without having to actually go be there

Saw the movie last Friday w/ my wife and 20 y/o daughter. The theater was silent after show except for applause for our fighting men and women who faced this crap storm in order to keep us free. Glad my daughter saw the scrafices that they made even if she sheilded her eyes during the most intense scences!

That is one of the most powerful, heart wrenching movies I have seen in a long while. At the end when the thrid guy is dieing is a tough tough scene.

I don't know that there was a good option for those guys. Either way, the Afghanies would have come looking for the goat hearders had they not released them.

Definitely, gives us a reality check of the sacrifices that are made everyday by our military while we are going about our daily lives.

Another thing is that I will never look at my AR-15 the same after seeing that movie. Sounds crazy, but it just shows the importance of a soilder and his weapon.
