Which auto shotgun?

Postby GreenheadJim » Mon Oct 14, 2013 6:52 am

I know this has been answered many times, but what's everyone's favorite 12ga auto? Forget about price, if you could buy any gun, what would it be?

Belgium made Browning B2000. Used it shooting 3" high brass magnum lead 6 shot. Seldom jammed despite any conditions, any could serve as paddle!

My remington 11-87 3" special purpose..... I sent it to a friend and he cerakote'd the receiver and barrel..... I have been shooting that gun for about 6 years for everything I shoot at in the air.... It has never jammed and I have only wiped it off! May jam on the next hunt, but so far that's my favorite!

Auto guns (or guns in general ) are like women, everyone has there own taste. and some just fit better than others

i personally love my SBE for hunting, is it the pertiest, most reliable, fastest cycling out there? probably not, but i hit fair with it and it fits me.

i occationally hunt with other guns, but 99% of my outtings are with her, most others are cabinet guns or for going shooting

just my $.02 and it probably aint worth that

I'm leaning towards a Benelli Super Black Eagle II or a Benelli Super Vinci, but can't make my mind up. Give me your opinions on each.

You mean to tell me that after over 200 views, this is all the response I'm getting. Yall all must be upset because your foodstamp cards weren't working  I would really like some opinions on different guns.

Oh, thanks to the people that responded.

I have an older 3.5" browning gold hunter. I really like it compared to most other autos. Like someone said above it may not be the prettiest, or fastest but i sure can shoot better with it! It just fits.

You can/will thank me later.

P.S.... whatever you do, do not buy the Vinci

I bought a benelli sbe back in 2000. I have shot the HELL out of it. It doesn't like cheap/weak dove loads, will not eject. I found that out the first dove season I had it. Had me an $1100 single shot that day. Started shooting something a little heavier than the cheapest shells I could find at wal-mart and haven't had any problems. As for duck season, all I shoot is 3.5" magnums and it has performed flawlessly with tolerable recoil. I own many different rifles, but only one shotgun. Never saw the need for anything else but my Benelli.

I put my hands on a M2 today. It felt really good. So now I'm torn between the SBE II, Super Vinci and now the M2.

Why not the new a-5? My cousin loves his. He now owns 3 of them. I have shot a gold for years and like them when I am shooting big shells. All Ii shoot now is an old auto-5 3 inch gun. I rarely shoot anything but 2.75 shells now but the gold does a great job. I have one I'll make you a good neighbor deal on, its in like new condition. If I could sell a few I am going to get the new a-5.
