Heavy equipment rental?

Postby quackerkiller » Sat Aug 10, 2013 3:38 pm

Looking at clearing some land..... It only about 2 acres that I would want to clear off..... What am I looking at as far as bulldozer size needed and estimated cost per hr/day/weekend? The land consist of nothing but shrubs(old house place) where the work would be done...... ANY help or comments appreciated!!! Thanks!!

Would a skid steer and brushcutter attachment and bucket work? If so you can get it for about $150-200/day

I just finished looking into a similar deal just a bigger job. Once it was said and done it'll be cheaper for me to hire someone to do the job for me. The rental rate, delivery, insurance, and what not add up pretty quick. Experience operating the equipment is also something to think about. I was looking at trackhoes. I can run one, but not like an experienced operator can. Could be cheaper in the long run to hire rather than rent depending on your situation.

a mini excavator will also get the job done and be alot cheaper than a dozer. not sure what prices are there but we used to rent them down on the coast for 3-400 for a weekend
shoot them in the face they may be wearing body armor lol

Depending on where your looking to do the work we rent Bobcat trackloaders, skid steers , mini x and have numerous attachments, or I could line you up with some guys that have mulching heads that do really do good work.
Pm me if interested

All you'd need is mini-x. KX71 - KX91 Kubota would work fine.

If you go the mini ex route, make sure you get one with a hydraulic thumb on it.

An experienced operator with the right size dozer could do that in one day maybe two if its just brush. Rate would be $100 to $125 per hour. That includes transport, Fuel And operator. It's going to take you some time to do that with a mini x and I am guessing it would take some time for u to operate it proficiently. Consider the delivery a d fuel cost and the time u have to invest.

Just grubbing a normal 2 acre tract should take an operator no more than one day with a medium sized dozer. Possibly less than 6 hrs depending on the terrain.

QUACKERS I got busy today and forgot all about it.... But yes, looking at the land I wouldn't think it would take but about half a day AT THE MOST!
