Stepping Up to a Crew

Postby fieldt76 » Sun Aug 04, 2013 2:08 pm

Been hunting out of a Rhino for the past few seasons and have really pleased with it.

Going to have to upgrade to a crew (2 row) this year. As far as I'm concerned, Ranger Crew is the way to go. Any suggestions or opinions?

They will flat go through some mud and muck. Too heavy and too loud for my taste.

I've been hell on a 800 ranger crew everyday the past two seasons and it never missed a beat. I would highly reccomend them for duck hunting.

Bought a crew about 4 months ago. Best thing I ever did. I love it. I've had it in some nasty stuff and it does well.

I have the crew 500. It hasn't really been tested but I enjoy the extra room.

Crew 500 here. It's literally hell on wheels; can't imagine what an 800 would do. No complaints at all. Only prob I've had is when I drove it 1/3 mile thru seat deep water and the belt housing filled up with water. Drained the housing, changed fluids, dried all my accessories that i had under the seats and got right back in the thick of it. Love them! They are a game changer.

Crew 900 has bucket seats in the front. I saw an article on them the other day.

May want to check out the new Honda Pioneer 4-seater. The back seats individually fold down, so it can be a 2, 3, or 4 seater. They seal closed when down so they don't get nasty/dirty/whatever. Honda got rid of the Big Red and has moved to the Pioneer. It's on my wish list...for many years away if I had to bet...

I think it's about $11k. Not even out yet.

There also is the Bennche Crew. They are built in Texas. http://www.bennche.com/products/Bighorn_700X_HD.htm
I think it's about $10k. I have seen some on craigslist before. They seem to be the best of the Rhino clones...

Just some other options to look at...good luck!

Go for it! If you have the coin, throw some tracks on it…one of the baddest machines I got to use last year was a Ranger crew with the tracks.

I have a 500 crew.....put it through some crazy stuff. I know there may be benefits to having an 800, but the 500 does everything I need. Love it!

buy 2

one to ride and one to keep in the shop

ive had 2 rhinos and 2 rangers. my rangers stayed torn up and my rhinos keep on trucking.

just me though

most who have the rangers love them

im waiting on the viking to come out. not a crew but with 3 big seats itll be great for me.

im serious when i tell you that if i won a polaris ranger i wouldnt let them deilver to my house. i would have to sell it and never touch it.

again im not trying to get in a pizzing match bc people either love them or hate them

id suggest talking to some local atv mechanics and you will find that they all hate working on them and have lots of request to repair.

again not bashing just giving my opinion.

good luck
