Swapping 6v Golfcart batteries to 12v

Swapping 6v Golfcart batteries to 12v

Has anybody done this. I need some new batteries in a golf cart. It has 6-6volt batteries, I was thinking about swapping to 3 good Deep Cycle 12volt batteries. I am wondering about the run time with the 12volt versus the 6volt. Any experiences??
