Crotch Turpin

Seems there is more than one crotch mentioned around these parts lately. Here is a Special Turpin. It is a has a burl crotch walnut box with feathering. I cut the walnut on the banks of Lake Jackson, Glen Allan, Ms. on the New Farm a while back at the invitation of Ricky New. I caught an 8 lb bass within sight of the tree. Lake Jackson was written about in a 1950's Field and Stream magazine for big bass. You can see the feather pattern that runs up the bottom. This box has an African Mahogany paddle. The wood a gift of Jeff Estridge, a friend in Jackson. It has some kind of chatoance. Thanks Jeff.
The box came out with a couple of hens that I would hunt with all day long. I put the new brass top hat on it to set the dark wood off. Thanks for the look.
