I'm confused? Crappy as in crappy, or crappy as in crappy-tastic?

Interesting discussion I had with some guys from SC last week where they call 'em Craaappie - pronounced like "app". Then I talk to guys in Minnesota, they say it the same way but always plural with the "s" on the end. Someone needs to put their foot down on this! hahaha

When I moved here from TN all I heard was people talking about the white perch they were catching? Took me awhile to figure out what the heck a white perch was.

I honestly think its the weather this year. Lake Washington hasn't even gotten right. I was talking to a biologist a few minutes ago and he says he thinks the spawn will start and finish within a few days this year as soon as the water finally gets right.

Asian carp sure won't help matters but Flower has had em awhile and there's still been good hauls of crappie and bream coming outta there.

Never understood why people call them white perch!
They are crappie (white crappie or black crappie)

Here is a white perch

Same reason they call a paddlefish a spoonbill catfish and a green sunfish a pond perch.
