Refinance

Postby peewee » Thu Dec 06, 2012 2:56 pm

Anyone refinanced recently. I have a friend that claims he is locked into 2.75. If that is the case I may be checking into if it is worth it for me.

Yes, we just did it about two months ago at 2.8 for 10 years, I think.

I have 59,000 left on my loan (6.5 years). We are currently financed at 5.25. Would it be worth it for us to refinance.

10 years at 2.99 will make your payment 569.44
And thats about where we were. 6ish years and 65K. Got some extra money to redo our kitchen though.

Add into that it will cost you some just for refinance fees. I dont think the juice is worth the squeeze for 6 years, but i didnt stay at a holiday inn last night either.

I am not a mortgage expert, but I would say absolutely. You can probably get a 5 yr loan for 2.5-3% and cut yrs off your loan and cut monthly payment at the same time.

I sent you a PM also.

I just did mine a couple of weeks ago. Got 2.87% but I locked in early and the rates were going back up when we closed

Did mine back in the summer and I went from a 30yr 6.2 to a 15 year 3.3 and my payments only went up 20$/month.
