I've got a charter lined up while a bunch of us are on vacation in the Caribbean next month. A couple of the wives have expressed some concern with getting sick. I've told everyone going that this charter is pretty good at avoiding rough seas since the winds are predictable and the the water is deep right off the beach, but some are still worried. One says she went sailing on Lake Michigan (Chi-town resident) a couple months ago, and despite taking dramamine before hand, she still got sick. Do you guys that routinely head off into the deep blue have any other suggestions? A more potent medication perhaps? I just want everyone to be able to have a good time. Thanks guys!

be well hydrated and stay hydrated get a good meal on your stomach

transderm scop. put it on the night before. drink a ton of water because it will dehydrate the hell out of you. you will not get sick.

Snack on captians crackers...DO NOT eat a heavy greasy dinner or breakfast. Keep your eyes on the horizon, dont stare at the water expecially if your feeling green. DO NOT go below deck ta pee or whatever. DO NOT look through a camcorder veiwfinder or binoculers. If its windy, dont go. You should be alright when moving at a descent clip...tied or anchored up could be a problem. I dont like the pills, they make me feel crappy anyway. The ear patches work WAY better for me. I am a human chum bucket, so, all these recomendations are from experience. Yall have fun

Another thing that was proven most effective to sea sickness is Ginger. You can get ginger suppliments at most grocery stores or health food stores.

Eat bananas......they taste the same coming up as they did going down !

Go see your pharmacist and tell him you are going deep sea fishing and you need something for motion sickness.......tell him you want the patch you stick behind your ear the night before you go out.......

Ginger pills and the ear patch. My girlfriend gets sick riding in the car sometimes and has never been on the ocean without chumming. Took the pills and the patch this summer and felt fine the whole trip.

Those patches are worth more than gold on an offshore trip.

We had 4 guys and 3 patches. 5 hours later we had 1 sick guy and 3 that had a great trip.

A Dramamine the night before as well as one the morning of and they'll be all good.
