I'm wanting to set up surround sound in my living room. Problem is I'm completely clueless as to what to look for. I know there are some experts around here.
What do I need to look for in a system? Wired speakers vs wireless? Brands to go with?
Thanks fellas

Re: Ask DS: Surround sound
I've got a Sony system. It has connectors that are only made by Sony. Lost a few cords in a move and had to shell out some bones to replace them. In other words get something that either doesn't need wires or uses common stuff so you can set it up yourself. The house I was in was typical sheet rock with attic access above the living room so I was able to wire it myself. The house I'm in now has brick in the living room so I just set it up around the TV. If I had it to do over again I'd probably go wireless.

Can't answer that question without your budget. How much do you want to spend? Any advice is irrelevant until you answer that question.

Like Edub said......look at Klipsch or even Boston Acoustics. Bose is nothing but a name when you start comparing them to the current home speaker companies. If you have a big budget, take a long look at Sunfire.
