Justin Boots question

Postby deltadukman » Wed Sep 12, 2012 2:10 pm

I am in the market for a new pair of everyday boots. Ive got dress boots, but I need some that can be worn outside and in the weather and I dont feel like I am destroying then. I want something with some rubber on the sole and not a straight leather sole. I found a pair of Justin Bent Rail boots I like, but I used to wear the old justin work boots and I would walk the heels over every 6 months. I dont want a "work boot". I am just learey about the soles of the Justin. Does anyone on here have any first hand knowledge of them? Have they got better? Better suggestions?

I wore the Double H boots until they made the boot tops too small...

Switched to the Muck work Boots a year ago and wear them every day on concrete floors and I love them. They are very durable and Waterproof too... The only problem I have had was the insole came apart, but I bought the Danner insoles and have had no other complaints... other than the price...

I guess I should rephrase it. I am not looking for a work boot, but rather a western boot with more than just a leather sole. Like a mix between a western and a work. Rubber soled western boot. Double stiched square toe.

Check out triple x boots. I have a pair of their work boots, comfortable and tuff. Reason I was told that justins soles don't last is because they have a very narrow metal sole structure which allows you to roll them one way or the other depending on how you walk. Mine always wore on the outside heel something terrible.

I've got a pair of Irish Setters that are as comfortable as tennis shoes.

Ariat or Twisted X. Both make a western style work boot and both are pretty comfortable. What size do you wear?

Look at having a sole saver put on the boot you want if it has a leather sole. I put them on all my boots. They last and give the boot some extra traction.

Tony Lama has a way better fit right out of the box. I always knew TL was a better boot, but always knew they were more expensive. Back when I was in the market for a pair of boots I beat up every brand. I really wanted a riding heel, but ended up with a pair of TL with the work heel that is rubber. I was pretty much set on a pair of Justin's until I tried on a pair of TL and realized that the TL was only $50 more than the Justin's. Below is a picture of my everyday wear boot.
