EMD Out for the Season
EMD Out for the Season
Ellie Mae Dogg has a partially torn ACL (to use human terms) as a result of her ongoing "fence war" with the rescue lab next door. Two weeks of rest, and no improvement. She's scheduled for surgery with our friend Dr. John Battley this coming Wednesday. Our sweet girl just can't seem to catch a break.

Re: EMD Out for the Season
EMD has had more medical stuff in the last 24 months than any dog should endure, but keeps on waggin. She deserves a better deal.

As if you and the EMD haven't already been through enough - sorry to hear about this latest set-back in the life of a dog. I agree, she deserves better.

Re: EMD Out for the Season
Ellie Mae had her surgery yesterday. It was only partially torn in a couple places, and more stretched than anything. Dr. John felt the operation went very well, and expects her to have a full recovery. He said she would have continued to aggravate it & have problems, so it was just as well we had proceeded with surgery when we did.
I'm the one who picked her up from the vet's office. She was moving OK, wobbly, but OK, when we loaded her into the back seat there. By the time I pulled into our driveway, though, she was back out of it and not interested in helping me move her. All I can say is, I'm glad there weren't cameras anywhere, but I managed to get her in the house without hurting her.
Staples come out in 10 days & then we start her 3-month rehab.
