Dish, Direct or Comcast?
All I really need is high speed internet access. But I could be persuaded to get a whole package if the price is right.
I am in Hernando.
What do you all recommend?
If this is a repost, could somebody share the link to the original thread?

I've had Comcast for two years in Hernando. The internet is fine, but I have had trouble out of my HD DVR the whole time. Been through a couple of them now and the repair guy is coming out this week. It will just go to a black or fuzzy screen for a few seconds while watching tv. Doesn't seem to happen when we are watching it coming through just a HD box. I liked Direct when I had it but you have to go with ATT DSL for internet. Keep hoping ATT will bring UVerse into my neighborhood. FIL just switched to Dish and so far it has been ok for them. Everything has its goods and bads. Find the one with the best price and go with it. However, yesterday I got something in the mail from Direct that would give new subscribers a $200 pre paid visa card for signing up. Hope this helps.

Re: Dish, Direct or Comcast?
I have been happy with Direct TV but I hate when it goes out during a storm. Price is OK. The ATT internet that I got with it sucked and had to get comcast internet which is why I am going to change to comcast TV as soon as my contract is up with Direct. It is about 30$ cheaper a month apples to apples if you bundle you services.
In my experience comcast customer service has been below par but that was in memphis. I am going to give them another shot down here and just hope that I dont have many problems.

Comcast sucks! I lived in Memphis for a while, had a comcast reciever go out. The comcast dude came and replaced it, and everything was well. I got my bill in that month and had been charged for something like $500 worth of pornos, all with mexican titles. They were all charged the day i had my reciever replaced. I didnt order them. I bitched for months about it to all kinds of indians on the phone, to no avail. I wouldnt deal with them if it werent necessary. They constantly rank at the bottom of customer service polls for good reason i guess.

anything but comcast. I have never had worse customer service.

Let me ask this... I believe Direct TV and Dish now offers a bundle of phone, I-net and TV. Does anyone have this service? I can't find many reviews on thier high speed i-net service. I wouldn't need phone but I doubt you can dundle only two.
I'm planning on building a house in the next 12 months, comcast and ATT doesn't have service in the area. Can't live without i-net service and be able to work from home.

Comcast service DOES SUCK. Ive been with a number of years. Have replaced 3 modems in the last year or so. The new xfinity hasnt been activated as of yet, but, they are better, faster, stronger than the competion

Comcast customer service SUCKS. Don't even get me started on that rant. I think they are all about below average from a customer service standpoint.
I do like comcast's cable and internet service though. It works good with no complaints.

Comcast called and offered to bundle tv, cable and internet for 110 per month for 2 years. Would save me about 40- 50 per month. Now I have Att DSL, Att basic phone and Comcast cable.
