No, I don't work on a family farm. What does it matter where I work? My statement remains true, I couldn't/wouldn't work like a sheep relying on a "security professional" with a flashlight to protect my life.

Unfortunately government employees often get the shaft when it comes to "rules", this is no different.

As far as different states honoring my "little Miss cc card"..we have reciprocity with 25 other states. Obviously other countries would not honor a foreigners gun permit.

In the Federal Handbook..there is one thing that can get you fired on the spot

You would think it would be some of the following

Don't do your job
Don't show up for work
Steal from you place of employment
Sexual harrass coworkers
Get in a fight
Watch Porn all day

NOOOOOO!! You can stay here with all that going on. But they will fire you on the spot with a Firearm!!!

May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.

Look at it from a non-management perspective...

You are in the hood.
You hear gunshots every night.
You are in an area where access is unrestricted meaning anyone could walk up.
Your security guy has a flashlight and a radio that is about as effective as a rape whistle. An active shooter situation and he will be the first one running away!
Your managers think you are on the verge of a killing spree if you have an argument or a bad day so no guns allowed.
You love your family and work hard to provide for them, but you allow yourself to be disarmed when you go in to work at a very "soft target" for a criminal or past disgruntled employee.
If you carry a gun and are caught, you get fired.
If you don't take the steps to protect yourself, you could die.

What good is working your butt off in an environment that could very easily be responsible for leaving your wife a widow and your children fatherless because someone in the ranks thinks guns are bad?

Would you rather have someone who is a good employee, has been vetted through background checks in the permit process as well as has received additional training and an upgraded firearms permit standing next to you or a security guard with a flashlight standing next to you if an employee from five years ago decides he's going to end it all and go out with a big bang by taking as many of you out as possible for ruining his life. He may have been fired before you even got there...point remains, you are in a very dangerous position regarding your personal safety.

People carrying a gun do not assume the role of John Wayne every day when they holster their firearms in some Jekyll and Hyde transformation. You are around a bunch of folks in your day to day life that are armed and you would never know it unless a bad guy needed tending to in order to save your life. People who go through the process of obtaining a firearms permit and then the additional training for an enhanced permit are not who you need to be concerned with in day to day life OR AT WORK. I don't need a permit to carry my gun to commit a crime. I don't need additional training to carry my firearm with me when i'm out looking for trouble and neither do the gangsters and other criminals. I have a permit and carry a firearm because I am a law abiding citizen who refuses to get on my knees and beg for my life while some social degenerate laughs before killing me.

I have sort of gotten off track of the original question but all this stems over not having a gun in your truck? A gun in the truck will do you about as much good as making a gun with your fingers and saying "bang" if there is an active shooter situation but I digress.

I understand the concept behind no carrying at work...do I agree with it? Nope.

Can I fault anyone for not quitting a job over a policy? Nope, I surely won't! Jobs are hard to come by without a doubt!

Do I think it is reckless and irresponsible for employers to deny the rights of their employees to defend themselves ESPECIALLY when there is inadequate security in place? I sure as heck do!

Call me cynical, paranoid, an idiot, or whatever else one may feel necessary. I am pretty opinionated about this subject and it is nothing personal. If I offend anyone, I apologize, I just think think there are some really ridiculous "rules" employers have when it comes to the safety of their employees!

I had an employee of a federal agency tell me I could not carry a weapon on their property while on duty. I laughed told them to call the police and kept walking. A sign don't mean crap if you have a legal right to carry a weapon as I did you can even call Barry O if you want still would not help.
