Atlanta, GA food / sites

Postby teul2 » Fri Jun 08, 2012 9:00 am

Looks like I am going to a class in ATL for a week by my self. Any suggestions for places to eat and things to do while there?
Would always like to hit hunting stores I have never been to.
Class will be in the Dunwoody area on North side of town off 285.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

what dates, you can check out my cousins's band. They usually play at the Northside Tavern about 10-12 miles from Dunwoody. Of course that place usually has great live music any night of the week.

IF you go down town,

go to Rays in the city, Best crab cakes i've ever had, great oyster selection, and great steaks.

If you like wings and beer, check out Wild Wings Bar. Several hundred different beers, and possibly the best wings I've had. Good scenery too.

Al's on Old Ivy was one of our favorites when we lived there.....Varsity for lunch....Chops Lobster Bar/ Buckhead....Rays on the River south on 285 to Powers Ferry........just don't be in a hurry to go some place between 3:00 and 7:00 ...tons of places north on Peachtree past Atlanta Athletic Club. If you're going to a Braves game take MARTA....station at Sandy Springs off 400 North.
