Engagement ring needs to go!

Postby bmaskew04 » Tue May 08, 2012 5:27 pm

my ex ol' lady put me on the road back in january and decided she didnt wanna get married so now I have a ring I dont need, I know I wont get back what I put into it but I would like to atleast get some of my money back, I know going to the local pawn shop is not the way to go, anyone have any suggestions? I could use the extra cash to go towards a duck boat!

If you find out, let me know. I have a setting and a wedding band that I need to part with.

Depends on where you bought it. If you got it at a retail jewelry store like a chain store you are going to get hit hard. The mark up is very high.

Try a jewelry store. My buddy owns one here in Birmingham and buys used "nice" rings all the time. He pays good money for them also.

I love my wife and Kids..But....$3500 is still cheaper than getting married in the long run....

Even if you don't sell the ring, you still came out financially better by not marrying the girl. Had you married it would have likely ended in a divorce (given the way she ended everything) and that would have cost you far more than $3500 in the long run.

My financial planner warns me often, that the worst thing you can do to your finances is get a divorce.

It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
