What were they thinking with Windows 8?

Postby JDgator » Mon Apr 02, 2012 2:03 pm

If Microsoft engineers were tasked with building an OS that didn't look or feel like Windows, they succeeded. Who wanta to relearn an operating system every 3 years. It reminds me of a mobile phone. Which is not what I want in a PC. If SCCM could support + configure Ubuntu with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and AD settings then my enterprise wouldn't run windows. We would switch the backgrounds and menus to windows skins and let the users have at it.

When is this supposed to roll out. I just got Windows 7 and there's nothing wrong with it. In fact I think it's the best Windows has come out with. Very stable and I haven't had problem one.

Get a Mac and be done with it.

I left the PC when they released that 'brain fart' of an OS Vista... what a piece of crap... most never even upgraded (or maybe I should say downgraded) to it because it was such a piece.

Win7 is rock solid. There will still be an option to use the traditional interface for the corporate users. Don't see the problem really. Wish all you want but the corporate world is stuck with Windows and MS Office. I watched some demos of Win8 and I think it will work especially with the option to use the classic interface. I like what I see of it so far.

I am just waiting for our broker/dealer to enhance our trading platform and other technology to run on a Mac, then it's adios to Windows. Hopefully, forever.

Comparisons by Microsoft show that windows 7 is the best!!! Maybe the just want to sell more.

I use a lot of complex xray softwares and such and have to use windows. I have stuck with Windows XP Professional and it has been rock solid for a long time. I have to use 32 bit software and love the fact that Windows 7 offers 32 bit and 64 bit. I recently got a few new computers to run some xray units and the Windows 7 has some neat offerings that i like over XP Pro.
