ummm... i don't know what you had for cereal this morning, but all Sparky is saying right there is that the guys who did the beating did it on their own, not with the direction or order or blessing of the fraternity

My opinion is and has always been that if an alum is in a position of authority and it involves that alumni's frat then someone other than that person should be involved - I have always maintained that position. Perceived objectivity strengthens the integrity of the whole investigative process, IFC and everything else that has been put in place to monitor these organizations to keep them in compliance with both the school and national fraternity charters & by-laws. However, it has been stated that this is not a fraternity issue and it is one for OPD to handle. I like Sparky and always have so I am not implying anything or making any accusations - just stating my opinion.
