What brand shells??

I usually shoot Estate 3" #3's. I don't have a box around, but I think that they are 1 1/4 oz. I also like Fiocchi and Kent, but Estate is usually cheaper, and have worked well for me.

I like the Kents in #3 1 3/8 oz,havent had a problem when they got wet, fell in last year wearing 25 on my belt and they shot fine two days later. Mean mallard does have a good price but they are a little bit cheaper at Vans Deer processing in Brandon,or they were last year.

I will switch from steel to bismuth this year. We had a good bit of pass shooting this year on a delta bayou and I was very disappointed in the knockdown power of the Estates. If you had a group of ducks pitch into your spread they were fine, most of the time. I feel that I will use half the shells if I shoot bismuth.

I've been pretty pleased with the Federal Premiums at 1500fps in a 3" BB. Usually we have a lot more geese to shoot at and when we let the ducks put their footsys down they work equally well.

Any 12ga 3" shell that is 1300fps or faster is fine with me except the Experts (shot isn't round). If steel shot is less than 1300fps the duck had BETTER be within 30 yards, or you might as well be throwing sand at him. My .02...
