Cold morning = big bird

Postby Gunslinger » Wed Mar 27, 2013 5:11 pm

Cold temps Tuesday morning had me contemplating not making the 2 hour drive to hunt. 3 hours after daylight, and not sight or sound of a turkey, I was really regretting not sleeping in. Persistence paid off, though. I found two strutters around 10am. Lost contact with them for a while, but caught back up with them after noon. The result was a gimme 15-20 yard shot at the longest spurred eastern I've ever personally laid hands on. 11" beard, 19lbs 6oz, 1 9/16" right, 1 8/16" left spur.

WOW that's a Trophy right there. CONGRATS!!! Looks more like hooks you would find on an Osceola. That's awesome.

He will rank way up there in the State and NWTF for MS.

Great Bird, and way to hang in there.

Most "turkey hunters" were in the bed.
