Cold temps Tuesday morning had me contemplating not making the 2 hour drive to hunt. 3 hours after daylight, and not sight or sound of a turkey, I was really regretting not sleeping in. Persistence paid off, though. I found two strutters around 10am. Lost contact with them for a while, but caught back up with them after noon. The result was a gimme 15-20 yard shot at the longest spurred eastern I've ever personally laid hands on. 11" beard, 19lbs 6oz, 1 9/16" right, 1 8/16" left spur.
what a freakin bird!! congrats man. that's awesome! most people will hunt a lifetime and never wrap their hands around a set of turkey legs with those kind of hooks. congrats again
