Beretta 390

Postby jmh600 » Thu Aug 09, 2012 2:28 pm

Is the beretta 390 or "the walmart gun" still in production? Can you still find them at Walmarts? If not where can you find them?

I've been looking for a 28" barrel for mine without luck. I'll definitely be interested if you find a source.

Best chance is Academy Sports. Last ones I've seen were there.

They had 3 on the used rack at the Gander Mountain in Tyler. I got paid and went back 3 days later...gone.

Why are these "cheaper" models not made anymore? Or are they?

What is the difference between the 390 and 3901? Woods and water in Tuscaloosa has the 3901 in stock for $599. Don't know if that's a good or bad price, just notices them yesterday.

I've heard that Beretta is discontinuing the 391's in favor of the new 400's. I do know that Beretta introduced a new "entry level" gun at SHOT this year, the A300 Outlander. I'm guessing it is going to replace the 390 in that role. I'm speculating here a little bit so take it with a grain of salt.

With that said I picked up a 391 Urika 2 at Dick's yesterday. The price I got mine for reflects the information I received about the 391's being discontinued. With the marked down price and an extra 10% off clearance discount, mine rang up $809.97 for a NIB gun.

If you have a Dick's in your area it might be worth looking into. The Urika 2 was the only Beretta semi-auto they had left at the store I went to. You might be able to find one or maybe even an Xtrema 2 if either one works with your budget.

Good luck.

The 3901 is a stripped down, basic 390 design, but with a smooth receiver, no rise. After Beretta discontinued the 390, they had a TON of parts left over for new guns, so they commissioned with Wal-Mart to sell the remaining guns. After those guns were sold, Beretta then offered the 3901 model to Wal-Mart and Academy Sports. Those WM guns ran $529 plus tax. The 3901 would probably be $575 or so. I bought my 3901 off of auction arms for $450, delivered from California.

450 was a good price for that gun. I picked up a new one last summer for around 560 if I recall correctly. I really like it it's worked perfectly.
