blonde mallard

My buddy David, second from left is holding a banded blonde hen mallard. Or that is what we think it is.

my guess is a Gadwall cross maybe a pintail cross. Dont think its a mallet. Could be wrong!!!

The bird in the above image is probably a pure Mallard female which has a lack of pigment in its plumage, a condition known as leucism.

I think Bonehead is right, a luecistic mallard hen. Luecism is where some of the skin does not produce any pigmintation. I killed a luecistic gadwall two years ago, pretty cool.
