Postby missed mallards » Tue Nov 02, 2010 4:32 pm

I know there is some type of Quail preserve around Starkville, and one around bruce, although I don't know a name for either one.

I got a buddy looking to get into a little action, and asked me to find him a place, so...

What ya'll got?
If I don't do it, I ain't gettin nun.......So i'm doing it

Used to be one around Waynesboro where at the sporting clays place. It's a shame you have to go to a "preserve" nowadays to shoot quail. Dad's stories of hunting wild birds back in the 60's & 70's used to keep me entranced for hours. In the last 13 years I've been back in MS, I've flushed exactly 1 covey and heard birds whistle in 2 separate spots... :(

Place just west of Bruce is Stone Ranch. Their website is www.duckhunt.com

Good people. They lease some land from us that joins up to their land.

Use Kevin McQuary, (Gadwall2), he is about 30 north of Starkville, and will show you a good time.

There is a place near Mathiston that my uncle goes to every February. He said it is pretty good. There is also Kearney Park near Flora and Little Q outside of Oxford.
