8 to 9.

Broke our overall mallard record this year. Killed more green than I could have ever wanted. Ended up about 40 ducks south of our overall record.

Great friends. Great food. Great poker games that lasted way too late into the night. Decent birds. No complaints.

This year was the best I have had in 5 or 6 years- I would give it an 8.

I had a really enjoyable season. Got to go a lot, took the kids a bunch, learned some new ground, and generally found a decent number of birds. Probably killed 150 - 200 birds with well over half mallards.

Give it a 9.

I have come to a conclusion that ducks are weary of a rectangled box with a bunch of stubble on top of it. Concealement was not the issue, almost felt like they knew where the pits were. Never seen them from first duck of the season looked like somethings up and its wasnt just one pit. Water inches from the top plenty surrounding stubble.

I did have the best hunt of my life this year but other than that it was the worst ever. The only time we killed em was when it froze up for about a week. I got shutout more times this year than the last ten combined. Give it a 3 or 4

10- Only hunted once this year, due to moving to TX, compared to 40 days last year. One day, 15 hunters-60 mallards. Cheapest season ever.

Overall I would have to say it has been a pretty good season. We had more than a few days watching empty skies and frozen fields like everyone else, but there were a few mornings where things came together and we managed to kill a few ducks. I hunted with friends both old and new. I went on my first true coastal diver hunt and found that shooting bluebills and buffleheads buzzing the decoys is just as much fun as busting mallards and pintails. I had perhaps my best deer season ever, killing two nice ten points, one of which was the best deer I've killed. Now it's time to shoot a few quail, maybe chase a squirrel or a rabbit, tune up the turkey callls and wait for March 15.

I live in Alabama but guide in Oklahoma. I would give it an 8 where I hunted out West and a 1 in Alabama. Didn't get to hunt the Delta this year but the two or three guys that I know that hunt good private places did well. Especially the last two weeks! TORCH is right about the guiding business when the birds don't show. I hunt a very large area and rarely have to shoot the same fields or water twice so it's not as tough. Birds were in OK this year! I do belieive that the flyways are shifting westward somewhat. Have a few bands that I haven't checked on yet but am curious as to where they will be from. I'm 52 years old and fortunately for me a bad day duck hunting is still better than being in the office. God willing we'll all get to do it again next year. What would we do without getting ready for next year anyway?

Looking back 30 years on our records we killed half of our average. I had more hunts with my kids, so it was fun. I have been spoiled by the last 2 years hunting, so I have been humbled now. I don't want to be humbled again next year.

TTT

Certainly looks like 2010-2011 will be much better at this point anyways.
