Market 4 New Waders

Postby lomaxmsu78 » Sat Dec 12, 2009 5:37 pm

I'm in the market for some new waders. I have some LaCrosse now and do not really like them. They rub the back of my leg were the boot joins. I was just wondering what types you guys wear and your opinions on them. I have been looking at the Mack's Big ditch wader, any comments(within reason will be listened to). Thanks

Mack's Big Ditch
Cabela's Light Mag 800

Cabela's warranty is excellent, even past a year. You'll have to return your big ditch waders within a year for Mack's to replace them or give you a refund. I had to send a pair back last week. They started leaking a week before the warranty ended. I'm very tough on waders (50+ days/season), and the big ditch waders fit the best of any I've ever worn before.

Without a doubt, Cabelas Warrior II breathables. Have said it many times before on here, I'll never buy neoprene's again. Most comfortable during frigid temps and hot. Layer up or down underneath depending on weather.

Hodgman waders have always been my favorite. I have the style that resembles the macks big ditch. Also, since Coleman bought Stearns (Hodgman) they have had some great sales on their closeout website.

I bought a pair of Red Head Big Man Neoprene waders from Bass Pro Shops last year and really like them. The neoprene goes down to the ankle instead of a boot, so more like shoes on the bottom instead of boots, and they are very comfortable. I don't know if they still make them like that but if so I highly recommend them.

I think I have decided to go with another pair of LaCrosses or the Big Ditch, some say that you need to go up a boot size in the Big Ditch. Anybody with any insight to this please let me know, Thanks. I am currently wearing a 12 in the LaCrosse.

I love my cabelas waders. Second would be my hodgmans. Had them for 3 seasons before they were moved to the "spare" pile
