cocobolo is a more dense wood the bocote. which will give you a little crisper sound, but i really like the way a bocote sounds.

You'll have less swelling issues with cocobolo. I love the rasp of bodock but hate the constant swelling issues caused by moisture/water.

I have had both woods and cocobolo feels heavier and more soilid to me and it is a little more crisp.

Oddly, cocobola is one of my favorite woods to turn....but then again I don't break out (yet) and i love the density and oily shavings......

lemme put it this way.......i put a mask on, long sleeves shirt and pants.....................and keep a vial of steroids, benadryl, and epinephrine in my grasp........and, 3 syringes............AND, let megan know i'm fixing to deal w/ that stuff again.

some folks, it's spontaneous and will occur after years - any allergy can happen this way.

others, like me, knew it the first time..................gator
